PiFace available Internationally

PiFace is now available from an international distributor. International shipping was a real problem and we’re delighted to have the help of an international distributor to help get PiFace out into the world!

  1. Thanks. There is no hint there as to how long before this board will be available. I think I read on a forum somewhere that it will not be until end of Jan, Do you know any better?

  3. The board will be available as soon as possible — we don’t have full control of suppliers etc. so we’re being cautious and saying early 2013. It’s worth signing up anyway then you’ll get chance to order first.

  4. < http://pi.cs.man.ac.uk/interface.htm > said: "We are in the process of ordering the first batch of assembled boards and bare PCBs if you’re keen to solder something up yourself."What we need here in VietNam are bare boards! A Pi Motherboard, from one of the international suppliers in Singapore, ends up in a buyers hands costing around USD$100 when shipping, duty, etc is paid. When FAMILY income is good at USD$300/month, you can see the importance of getting BARE boards – the components, from China, are cheaper, by far, than in most countries. What appeals to me about the PiFace is that is similar in size to the Motherboard, The Gert was useless, to many, as there was a disparity, a big disparity, in size.Let’s hope the guys at University of Manchester continue their work in developing handy boards such as PiFace.
